From the not-too-distant Past
Wednesday, February 21st, 2007I was approached by the wine director of a certain restaurant not too long ago, asking a special piece be created for his wife’s birthday. He gave me carte blanche regarding what to endeavor, so I adapted a favorite form for his gift. I wanted something that would be dramatic, yet easily adorned for any occasion. This spiculum necklace is comprised of five elements: all hammered, hollow-constructed tapers. I selectively dipped some into the oxidation bath, giving the group depth in graduated coloring. Needless to say, he was extremely pleased. I am told she wears it all the time. How wonderful.
